The Tashkent Modernism mobile application is the digital extension of the
Tashkent Modernism XX/XXI initiative, transforming years of architectural research
into an interactive guide to the city's modernist heritage. Developed by ACDF alongside the exhibition and conference, the app makes the initiative's research accessible to audiences beyond the museum and conference hall.
Available free of charge for iOS and Android, the application invites users to discover Tashkent through curated routes and detailed profiles of the city's most significant modernist buildings. Combining historical research, archival material, contemporary photography, and architectural documentation, it offers new ways to explore the stories behind the architecture that shaped Tashkent during the second half of the twentieth century.
Designed for both residents and visitors, the app encourages users to experience the city as an open-air museum—connecting architecture, history, and urban life through an intuitive digital platform. Whether planning a self-guided walk or learning about individual landmarks, users can engage with Tashkent's architectural legacy wherever they are.
As the Tashkent Modernism XX/XXI initiative continues to evolve, the application will grow alongside it, serving as a living resource that supports research, public engagement, and the long-term preservation of Tashkent's modernist heritage.
